The Blu Water Day Spa was developed as a haven for rest and rejuvenation isolated from the hustle and bustle of city life, so our approach was to provide a calming, zen ambience each guest would feel immediately upon arrival. We achieved this effect by using a variety of organic elements–a concurrent theme for the Blu Water Day Spa–including a polished stone mosaic surrounding the reception desk, facing the reception desk in dried twigs enclosed in glass and installing a fountain that sounds of gentle running water. We used a muted color palette of earth tones, including sage green for the walls, complemented by subtle pops of natural color, such as the azure fabric on the banquette in the waiting area. With nature being essential to the philosophy of the Blu Water Day Spa, natural lighting was simulated throughout the space using a variety of fixtures, including recessed high hats, pendants and amber glass hanging lamps in the treatment areas that impart a soft, uplifting glow.
